Frequently Asked Questions
If your question isn't answered here, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
Where can we have the photoshoot?
It’s completely up to you! We can shoot:
-
At home – This works especially well for newborns or if you simply want to stay in the comfort of your own space.
-
In my studio – You're welcome to visit my brand-new studio at Studio Upstairs, Wood Ln, Heskin, Chorley PR7 5PA, based at Heskin Hall Shopping Village.
-
Outdoors – Whether it’s woodlands, beaches, or a local park, I’m happy to shoot wherever feels special to you! Get in touch to discuss your vision.

What should we wear for the photoshoot?
I always recommend neutral, earthy, or soft tones as they photograph beautifully and create a timeless look. Try to avoid heavy patterns or logos, as they can be distracting. If you need help, I offer styling advice during our consultation!

Can we include extended family in a session?
Yes! If you’d like to include extended family members, please get in touch to discuss options, as larger group sessions require more time. These are not suitable for mini shoots.

Can we bring pets to our photoshoot?
Yes! Pets are welcome for outdoor or at-home sessions, but not in the studio. If you’d like to include your furry friend, just let me know in advance so we can plan accordingly!

What happens if the weather is bad for an outdoor shoot?
I always keep an eye on the forecast leading up to your session. If it looks like bad weather, we can either reschedule or move to my studio if suitable.

How long do shoots last?
-
Family shoots – Typically 1-1.5 hours.
-
Newborn shoots – Anywhere from 1.5-3 hours.
-
Mini shoots – 20-30 minutes.
I’m flexible with my main shoots and will never leave if I haven’t captured everything we need.

How long will it take for my photos to be edited?
-
Newborn & family shoots – 2-4 weeks (can be longer during busy periods).
-
Weddings – 8-12 weeks (may take longer during peak wedding season).
I aim to provide a sneak peek within 48 hours, but occasionally, this may be delayed.

Is a deposit required?
Yes, a non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date. The final payment is due the week before the shoot for it to go ahead.

How often do you do mini shoots?
I aim to offer seasonal mini shoots, around 2-4 times a year. These are a great way to get updated family photos at a lower cost—but they sell out quickly!

Can you help style and create ideas for the shoot?
Absolutely! You’ll receive a phone consultation where we’ll discuss:
-
Styling and colour palettes.
-
Any inspiration you have.
-
Creative ideas—such as pregnancy announcements!
I love making shoots unique and personal, so feel free to reach out with your ideas.

Do you travel for shoots?
Yes! Travel can be discussed in your consultation, and I’m always up for capturing magic in a stunning location.

Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes! Gift vouchers are available and can be used towards any photoshoot. These make great gifts for new parents, birthdays, or special occasions!

Do you offer digital images?
Yes, I offer packages that include both digital images and prints, as well as a digital-only package.

Do you charge to reopen a gallery?
Yes, galleries remain open for one month. Before the deadline, you'll receive a reminder email to download your images. If you miss the deadline, there is a £25 fee to reopen your gallery.

How long do you store images for?
I store all photographs for one year. After that, they are deleted, so please make sure you save and back up your images before the year is up.

Do you only photograph families and children?
No! I also photograph weddings, branding sessions, and events for small businesses.
